What to know

Edo purple transforms Seiko’s distinctive Prospex Alpinist into an unusual anniversary edition. The wedge-shaped indexes, Arabic numerals and rotating compass inner ring preserve the model’s outdoors identity, while the gold-coloured seconds hand and purple-stitched leather strap provide a more decorative touch. A reinterpreted Alpinist signature recalls Seiko’s original 1959 Laurel Alpinist.

The stainless steel case is 39.5mm across with a sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and 200-metre water resistance. Its automatic 6R55 offers a stated 72-hour reserve. Only 7,000 will be produced, with a US recommended price of $900 and availability scheduled from October 2026.
