What to know

The DEFY Extreme Lapis Lazuli II brings natural stone into Zenith’s most angular chronograph design. Blue lapis counters contrast with forged carbon and titanium, while the stone’s pyrite inclusions introduce small golden reflections. The 45 mm watch is limited to 25 pieces, according to the manufacturer’s July announcement.

The automatic El Primero 9004 uses separate escapements for timekeeping and its hundredth-of-a-second chronograph. Zenith specifies 5 Hz for the watch and 50 Hz for elapsed-time measurement, with a 50-hour timekeeping reserve. Yellow gold-plated markers and luminous material frame the openworked display. Black rubber and Velcro straps are supplied. This is newly added coverage of the July release, with current availability subject to the brand’s confirmation.
